The problem we solve

Tanzania now has a working route for carbon projects. Projects are registered with the National Carbon Monitoring Centre (NCMC), assessed by a national committee, approved by government, then validated and verified under an international standard before credits can be sold.

Most clean cooking companies already have the hard part: stoves in homes and real emission reductions. What they lack is the documentation, data systems and regulatory know-how to turn that into credits. That is the gap we close.

  • Improved cookstove distributors
  • LPG and electric cooking companies
  • Biogas programmes
  • NGOs running household energy projects
  • Investors screening carbon assets

Frequently asked questions

How long does it take to earn the first carbon credits?

For a clean cooking project it usually takes 12–24 months from feasibility to first issuance. Registration, validation and the first monitoring period are the longest stages. A feasibility study tells you early whether the timeline and numbers work for your business.

Which standard should a Tanzanian cookstove project use?

Verra, Gold Standard and the Global Carbon Council all have cookstove methodologies. The right choice depends on your buyers, the price premium you need, audit costs and timelines. We compare them for your project before you commit.

Do carbon projects need approval from the Tanzanian government?

Yes. Projects must be registered with the National Carbon Monitoring Centre and approved before credits can be traded, and the government receives a share of carbon revenue under the carbon trading regulations.

How many credits can one stove generate?

It depends on the technology, how much the stove is actually used and the baseline fuel. Typical values range from about 1 to 3 tonnes of CO₂e per household per year. Try the free estimator on our homepage for a first figure.
